DIRECTOR OF SALES
 
Division/Dept: Broadcast-Sales
Position Reports to: General Manager
Location: Idaho Falls/Pocatello, ID and Jackson Hole, WY
 
Job Purpose and Objective
Responsible for achieving the revenue goals of these stations and coordinating their sales activities.  Manages the sales, traffic and commercial production departments of KIFI, KIDK, KXPI, CW, Telemundo and Local News 8 Now.  Supervises and responsible for achieving digital revenue goals.

 Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares the spot sales and commercial revenue budgets for KIFI, KIDK, KXPI, CW, Telemundo, Local News 8 Now and all digital products. Develops plans for achieving revenue goals and directs their implementation.  Particular emphasis on local sales, with a laser focus on direct, new local direct and digital advertiser sales.
  • Directly supervises the following: Local Sales Managers for -KIFI, Telemundo, Local News 8 Now, KIDK, KXPI and CW including all digital sales. National Rep Firms for all six stations and digital; Local Direct Commercial Production Manager; Traffic operations and IMC.
  • Supervises the hiring of or directly hires, promotes, motivates, trains and if necessary, disciplines qualified personnel including the foregoing supervisors; account executives, traffic and sales assistant.
  • Assures close coordination between the various sales teams to assure maximum revenue to the group of stations as a whole. Manages the stations’ commercial inventory.
  • Works as a member of the NPG of Idaho management team, assuring compliance with all company policies and procedures. Makes sure that the sales, traffic, and commercial production departments function as a part of the overall company team.
  • Administers the department’s budget and assures compliance with company’s budgetary guidelines including spending and overtime control. Assures that clients pay their bills in a timely manner.
  • Performs other responsibilities as determined by the General Manager, and the General Manager may change this job description at any time.

Qualifications:

  • Education: College degree preferred.
  • Experience in Television Sales Management
  • Skills (technical, typing, computer, etc.)

  • Physical job requirements: Be able to drive to see number of local clients on a daily basis, May need to sit or stand for long periods of time
