Promotions and Marketing Director KQXR, KTHI, KRVB, KJOT(Lotus Boise Corp)             

Full-Time Position-Minimum of 40 hours per week. Salary + Benefits.  Reports to General Manager.

Position Summary:

The Promotions and Marketing Director is a team leader specializing in working with an experienced sales team and program directors to generate greater revenue and ratings on our stations. We are seeking a self-motivated, high achiever with excellent communication and organizational skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for Marketing Director Position:

  • Work collaboratively with multiple internal and external departments on developing and implementing promotional, marketing and event concepts for the Boise Lotus 4 Station Cluster
  • Represent our stations at community events and promotions.
  • Work closely with Program Directors to implement on-air contesting, on-site client promotions, station events and website promotions.
  • Act as liaison between the Programming and Sales Departments to develop overall station campaigns, themes, and marketing approaches.
  • Enhance sales activity with creative event promotions partnering with local and national businesses utilizing station brand, on-air personalities, on air giveaways and creating compelling listener incentives.
  • Provide creative influence to enhance the stations’ images and visibility within the community to attract listeners and clients.
  • Manage and train staff of five+ part-time employees to execute sales and stations remote broadcasts and events.
  • Day-to-day management within the Promotions Department including policies and procedures.
  • Work with programming and sales to develop, manage and execute ratings and revenue generating promotions for the radio stations.
  • Manage production, ticket sales, marketing in collaboration with sales/programming departments for 3-4 major station events and concerts.
  • Collaborate with Program Directors and supervise market/stations contests including originating or adapting ideas, arranging prizes and listener events.
  • Meet daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines.
  • Assist with setting up and representing the station(s) for site appearances at various locations and events.
  • Assist with coordination of required equipment and personnel between departments.
  • Act as a contact between listeners and the station during events and promotions.
  • Requires visits to client offices and premises.
  • Required client outings to sports and other entertainment events.
  • Troubleshoot issues as necessary.
  • Ability to work under deadlines and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with local promoters and media outlets including TV, Newspaper, online publications, and local businesses.
  • Write press releases and work with the local media to highlight events for our Radio Stations including the annual festivals, charity/community work as branding the stations and on-air personalities.
  • Propose, Manage, and implement yearly Promotions and Marketing budget for four radio stations.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelors’ degree in marketing, communications or business administration or equivalent number of years of experience with progressive management experience.                                                                                                
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Bilingual Capabilities preferred.
  • Must be a motivated and an enthusiastic self-starter who is able to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
  • Strong ability to work as part of a team, demonstrate initiative and solve problems independently.
  • Strong Adobe Photoshop and MS Office skills (Power Point, Excel, and Word).
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Experience in Hiring, training, and Managing staff.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

 

Preferred Skills:

 Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

The ability to lift or move a minimum of 50+ pounds and stand for long periods may be required.  Requires travel to station events and client sites, valid driver’s license is required with good driving record.  Must have a reliable means of transportation and maintain current insurance and registration.
